Salary of $27.92 per hour.
* If the qualification certificate is valid, an additional premium of 15% may be admissible, bringing the hourly rate to $32.11.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Schedule: Possibility of part-time (2 to 3 days/week).

NATURE OF THE WORK

Under the authority of the Material Resources Department Coordinator, the main and usual role of the employee in this job class is to perform work preventive maintenance, repair and transformation relating to several building trades.
More specifically, the job consists of:

  • Analyze and carry out various requests relating to the improvement and repair of the building, particularly in mechanics (remote control, automation, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, generator, fire protection, piping, drainage, etc.) and carpentry and joinery (redevelopment, water infiltration, structure, locksmithing, etc.) If necessary, assist specialized subcontractors and be the point of contact with them and the occupants;
  • Participate in the implementation of preventive maintenance programs and collect information in the appropriate computer tools;
  • May be required to carry out diversified general maintenance work such as handling, repair and assembly of furniture, welding, pruning of vegetation;
  • Perform any other related task requested by the superior immediate.

Required qualifications

  • Have a valid qualification certificate for one of the following trades: refrigeration engineer, electrician, stationary machine mechanic, electromechanic, carpenter-joiner or any other relevant work experience;
  • Have up to four (4) years of relevant experience.

Skills sought

  • Professional qualification in electricity, heating, air conditioning, carpentry-joinery or building mechanics.

Special requirements

  • Have a valid driver's license and a vehicle allowing the transport of equipment, tools and construction materials;
  • Extensive knowledge of electricity or in plumbing or heating systems (electric, natural gas, hot water) considered an asset;
  • Be able to read plans, sketches, electrical and mechanical specifications;
  • Place great importance on health and safety rules;
  • Have an eye for detail;
  • Available for service calls outside business hours;
  • Physical work, handling loads.
