Location: Quebec City or Montreal (with mobility between the two locations)
Schedule: Full-time, permanent position
Salary: $135,000 to $205,000 depending on experience

Your mandate

Reporting directly to the presidents, the Director of Operating Rooms is responsible for the planning, organization, performance, and strategic development of the surgical division. You will play a key role in maintaining clinical excellence, optimizing operations, and continuously expanding our service offerings in a highly competitive private sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Embody and promote the organization's values, mission, and vision

  • Deploy a performance culture based on accountability, excellence, and autonomy

  • Structure surgical services to support our strong growth

Operational Management

  • Oversee all clinical and administrative operations in the operating rooms

  • Develop and manage budgets, KPIs, business plans, and strategic objectives

  • Optimize the use of human, material, and technological resources

Quality of Care and Compliance

  • Implement clinical best practices, Accreditation Canada standards, and our internal policies

  • Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement

  • Ensure compliance and continuing education for medical and nursing staff

  • Collaborate with legal and medical teams on ethical issues

Development of the Offer

  • Evaluate the profitability of new specialties or Procedures

  • Coordinate the launch of new services

  • Collaborate with clinical, laboratory, and medical departments to ensure intersectoral cohesion

Strategic Relationships

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and medical teams

  • Actively participate in the organization's decision-making bodies

Required Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent (OIIQ permit required)

  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA) – health option (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in surgical or hospital facility management

  • Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written

  • Demonstrated experience in growth management, team leadership, and organizational innovation

  • Strong skills in financial and budgetary management (gross margin analysis, cost per procedure)

  • Proficiency in digital health tools (EMR, MS365, etc.)

  • Great availability and mobility between the Quebec City and Laval facilities

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual compensation: $135,000 to $185,000, depending on experience

  • 4 weeks of vacation upon starting
