Main Role
Provide immediate post-anesthesia monitoring and care to patients leaving the operating room, ensuring their safety, comfort, and recovery optimal.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients in the recovery room after surgery.
 
- Monitor vital signs: blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, oxygen saturation.
 
- Manage postoperative pain according to protocols (IV, PCA, epidural).
 
- Detect and intervene quickly in case of complications (bleeding, respiratory distress, nausea, etc.).
 
- Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists and surgeons.
 
- Document all observations and interventions in the patient's file.
 
- Ensure clear communication with families and the healthcare team.
 
- Prepare and maintain monitoring equipment and medical equipment.
 
- Comply with hygiene and safety protocols. and quality.
 
Requirements
- College Diploma (DEC) in nursing or equivalent.
 
- Member in good standing of the OIIQ.
 
- Experience in post-operative care or intensive care (asset).
 
- Good stress management and ability to react in emergency situations.
 
- Interpersonal skills and empathy.
 
- Availability to work flexible hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends).
 
- Knowledge of medical protocols and monitoring equipment.
