Overview
Reporting directly to Senior management, the Operations Associate will track spend, monitor investment performance, find variances, and work with team/consultants on variances towards a resolution. The incumbent will work closely with the corporate Finance team and be responsible of specific administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with project leads to assist in the budget preparation and approval process.
- Monitor and track performance against plan on a monthly basis, act as the corporate control for all investment spend.
- Assist Management in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to shareholders.
- Manages and negotiate Insurance, responsible for placing/maintaining coverages across the US group of companies.
- Responsible for Real Estate property taxes; tracking, analysing values, and the appeal process for all properties across the US.
- Coordinate with finance department with creating new entities and wind-up of others as we buy and sell out of new investment projects.
- Track information and prepare investments/operational reporting as necessary (Leasing, sales, collections, inventory across the US).
- Liaise with accounting department bi-weekly to report on ongoing investment activities including report on incoming cash flows from investments and expected cash needs from investment spend.
- Assist in other financial analysis as required for scenario analysis and new acquisitions.
Qualifications
- University/college program Degree preferably with a professional degree in accounting or finance (i.e. CPA/CFA)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an analyst ideally in a real estate environment.
- Strong organization skills for coordinating multiple priorities for multiple projects.
- Effective communication and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel to different divisions as necessary to work with project teams as required and to gain understanding of investments.
- Exceptional knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
