Job Description:

- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources and labour relations strategies, including policies, programs and procedures to meet the human resources needs of the organization.

- Advise employers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation, benefit plans and collective agreements.

- Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or employees, mediate labour disputes and grievances and provide advice on employee and labour relations.

- Develop and research job classifications, job descriptions and salary scales, as well as competency assessment measures and systems.

- Plan and administer staffing and total compensation plans, as well as training and professional development, employee assistance, employment equity and affirmative action programs.

- Manage programs and update human resources information and related records management systems.

- Recruit and ensure training of staff.

- Coordinate the employee performance evaluation program.

- Conduct research on benefits, health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies.

- Other tasks related to the job.
