Job Summary:
The Project Estimator - Specialized in Electricity is responsible for developing accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects as part of the construction of large-scale projects (heavy residential and commercial). He/She works closely with Project Managers and technical management to analyze project requirements, assess costs for materials, labor and equipment, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Main responsibilities:
- Review plans, estimates and technical specifications of calls for tenders to understand the requirements of electrical projects.
- Raise points of vigilance in plans and details of calls for tenders.
- Receive, evaluate and quantify directives and requests for changes from the various sites/projects in progress.
- Evaluate and calculate quantities/costs of the various items identified (materials, labor, equipment) during project estimates versus ordering.
- Coordinates with the technical department, purchasing and project managers to estimate the needs for materials, equipment and human resources.
- Validates cost assumptions with available technological tools to ensure the most accurate estimates and implement.
- Develops working methods to optimize tools and ensure a simplified process in order to support project managers.
- Participate in project launch and monitoring meetings.
Requirements:
- DEP in electricity or a combination of relevant studies and experience in electrical evaluation.
- 7-10 years of experience in the field of electrical construction project estimation.
- Excellent understanding the realities of a heavy residential and commercial construction project.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems, current standards and cost calculation methods.
- Skill in the use of estimation and project management software (e.g. Estimator, Procore, MS Project, AutoCAD).
- Good command of Excel and office suite tools.
- Excellent analysis, communication and time management skills.
- Autonomy and ability to work in a team.
