Position Overview:
Projet 4 is excited to announce the launch of the Studio 4 MTL Pilot Program, an innovative educational initiative aimed at integrating recording arts into the high school curriculum. We are seeking passionate and dedicated educators to join our team in Montréal, QC, Canada. These positions will be pivotal in shaping the academic and creative success of our students, who will be ages 16-24, in the vibrant communities of Côte-des-Neiges and Montréal Nord. Each pilot program will serve approximately 10 students; instruction will follow an Adult Ed module based approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Teach the full range of high school Mathematics, and/or English Second Language, and/or French courses, adhering to the Québec Education Program standards. An ability to teach material in more than one program is a strong asset.
- Student Engagement: Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement through innovative instructional strategies.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement effective assessment tools to monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Cultural Relevance: Apply culturally relevant pedagogical practices that respect and incorporate the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other instructors and program staff to plan, coordinate, and execute educational activities and events.
- Professional Development: Participate in required training and professional development activities in preparation for successful execution of pilot program goals.
Schedule:
- Part-time, contract positions available for two sessions.
- Session 1 - Montreal Nord - January 13 to April 11, 2025
- Session 2 - Côtes-Des-Neiges - January 13 to April 11, 2025
- Monday to Thursday, five hours per day, teaching two, two-hour blocks, with one hour dedicated to lunch with students.
- Fridays will serve as an opportunity to prepare for the week to come and reflect on the week prior, these will require a half day of instruction and a half day of preparation.
- Applicants must be available for training and preparation in early December, 2024
Location:
- Positions available in Côte-des-Neiges and Montréal Nord, Montréal, QC, Canada.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s of Education in Mathematics, English Language Arts, or French as a Language of Instruction.
- Fluency in both English and French is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in teaching high school students in a related subject.
- Strong understanding and implementation of culturally relevant pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students in a creative learning process.
