- Operate and tend equipment to dry lumber and other wood products
- Observe panel indicators and equipment to detect malfunctions
- Observe equipment, panel indicators, video monitors, and other instruments to ensure that processes are operating according to specifications
- Start up, shut down, set up and adjust process equipment or machines
