Role and responsibilities

According to production needs, the Machine Set Up Assistant performs a variety of tasks, as follows:

 

  • Set up production equipment - experience setting up presses an asset
  • Feed Sheets into equipment
  • Prepare, clean and return tooling/print plates to and from storage
  • Monitor and remedy all quality issues
  • Create Amtech tags and apply to loads
  • Strip scrap from boxes and foam sheets / use band saw
  • Bale scrap / Keep a clean safe working area
  • Palletize / Unitize product / Counting inventory
  • Complete Quality Reports and other required documentation
  • Other tasks as assigned.

 

Required knowledge and experience

  • High school diploma and experience in a similar role is an asset
  • 2 yrs Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Technically capable to learn and operate production equipment
  • Capacity to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Fluent with basic measurements with both metric and imperial systems and conversion capabilities

  • Have a positive, engaged contributor style attitude and communications
  • Quick learner with technical aspects of work and with production equipment
  • Organisation skills, detail-oriented and quality-conscious

 

Other requirements

Training required- training shifts will be 4 – 8 weeks starting at 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday.  

The position requires walking and standing.  Some tasks may require bending, kneeling, reaching, as well as work outside and inside.

 

Job type and term: Full time and permanent

Work schedule: Monday to Thursday – 15.25 pm – 1:55 am

Salary: $22.47/hour plus $1.00/hour shift premium (OP2+)

Vacation / paid leave: 4% (2 weeks’ vacation), 4 personal days
