Reporting to the Head of HR and Recruitment, the Learning & Development Advisor is responsible for running various training initiatives within the company, following the established learning strategy. They will also be in charge of managing local HR projects in line with our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, as well as our talent development strategy. The ideal candidate must be creative, structured, comfortable managing multiple priorities and have great team spirit.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the annual training budget, validating information with the Head of HR and Recruitment as needed.
- Continuously revise and manage priorities of the annual training plan, adjusting for changes and new information.
- Accommodate and plan ad hoc training requests.
- In collaboration with the HR Coordinator, organize ongoing training activities such as language classes, technical and artistic training and monthly masterclasses.
- Develop and adapt training content where required, including for EDI training.
- Develop and give training in English and French as required.
- Ensure training is well documented to conform with the "Loi sur les Compétences" Training law in Quebec.
- Ensure that the training function is aligned with the company's business objectives (including immigration, recruitment and retention).
- Support the HR Coordinator with their training tasks as required.
- Facilitate external training activities by consulting internal stakeholders and registering employees to activities.
- In collaboration with the HR advisors, production and departments, identify high potential employees by collecting and analysing information and then design career progression plans.
- Track internal promotions to provide data and to offer adequate training in line with promotions.
- In collaboration with the HR advisors, design and fix established career progression plans from one role to another.
- Support training and recruitment events such as internal and external training conferences, guest speakers, etc.
- Follow the established EDI plan in line with the studio's EDI strategy, integrating the global EDI in the process.
- Keep the EDI section up to date on the local intranet.
- Conduct research and develop new EDI initiatives for the Montreal studio (scholarships, events, community partnerships)
- Collaborate with the global EDI function for activities and communications.
- Under supervision of the Head of HR/Recruitment, effectively manage existing community partnerships as well as any new ones.
- When required, supply data and reports on training projects.
- Provide support to the rest of the HR team when required.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience managing training activities for multiple teams
- Strong organizational and planning skills, proven ability to prioritise tasks
- Knowledge of the 1% training law (Loi sur les Compétences)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and requests simultaneously
- Ability to find creative solutions
- Strong attention to detail
- Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or equivalent
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google tools
- Self-starter, structured and ability to take initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication in French and English
- Great team spirit and positive attitude
- Knowledge of the visual effects (VFX) and Feature Animation industry (an asset)
