As our care coordinator prepares to embark on a well-deserved retirement after more than 15 years of passion and dedication, the Pallia-Vie palliative care home is looking for a Director of Nursing (DSI) to take over this valuable mission.

Your main responsibilities
Nursing component
-
Plan, organize, and evaluate patient care, ensuring its quality and safety
-
Supervise clinical practices in accordance with standards and best practices
-
Adapt work methods, procedures, and policies as needed
-
Assess clinical needs and coordinate material and Human Resources
-
Collaborate with other managers and update care protocols
-
Develop incident prevention and infection control practices
Human Resources Component
-
Recruit, integrate, and retain staff Caregivers (nurses, nursing assistants, patient care attendants)
-
Plan schedules and manage absences via our IT platform
-
Provide professional support and guidance to teams
-
Supervise the implementation of standards of practice, codes of ethics, and training plans
-
Actively participate in internal committees (including the CNESST committee)
Administrative and financial aspects
-
Manage the nursing department budget and perform required follow-ups
-
Ensure the purchase and maintenance of medical equipment
-
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (social workers, spiritual care providers, etc.)

Maintain ties with the Alliance of Palliative Care Homes of Quebec
Required profile
-
University degree in nursing (Bachelor's degree required)
-
Certification in management or demonstrated experience in team management
-
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of nursing experience, including at least 5 years in management
-
Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.
-
Experience in palliative and end-of-life care (a strong asset)

Mobilizing leadership, attentive listening, rigor, and the ability to manage complex situations

Excellent command of French, good knowledge of English

Proficiency in MS Office and digital tools
