Working Conditions

  • Salary between $55,000 and $65,000 depending on your experience
  • Permanent, full-time position, in-person, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • 3 weeks of annual vacation, plus 5 paid personal days per year and 4 additional paid vacation days between Christmas and New Year's Day

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Technician:

 

On a monthly basis:

  • Is responsible for the month-end process for two of the Group's four entities, including: bank reconciliation, recurring entries, balance sheet revaluation, and exchange rates;
  • Performs the necessary controls related to the production of financial statements, such as balancing the GL, auxiliary and intra-group items, monitoring balance sheet schedules, closing accounting periods, and updating exchange rates in the system;
  • Reconciles GST-QST remittances, including customs.

 

On a monthly basis Weekly:

  • Manages payables inboxes and collaborates on invoice entry;
  • Works closely with the payables process to maximize cash discounts;
  • Invoices customer orders and collects payments;
  • Works to optimize the purchasing cycle in terms of internal controls and data integrity;
  • Collaborates on special projects and contributes to the culture of continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting Technology, or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing SME.

Skills and required skills

  • Autonomous, structured person, and able to see beyond the numbers;
  • Good judgment, discretion, rigor, and communication skills;
  • Comfortable with computerized management systems (advanced Excel);
  • Bilingual French – English, oral and written.
