Draftsperson

Job Summary

Our client is looking for a draftsperson in building or industrial to play a central role in the preparation of technical drawings, production plans, and shop drawings for construction sites.

Reporting to the technical management, the successful candidate will directly contribute to the quality of project execution by ensuring the accuracy of drawings, the consistency of technical documents, and the proper transfer of information to production and site operations.

This is a key role for a structured, quick-executing individual who can effectively manage multiple files in a concrete, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Review, correct, and modify existing drawings according to project needs
  
• Produce detailed shop drawings for site teams and production
  
• Prepare complete production plans for various projects
  
• Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and technical documents
  
• Validate dimensions, technical details, and information necessary for execution
  
• Take measurements on site when required
  
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure project fluidity
  
• Quickly identify missing information, inconsistencies, or technical risks
  
• Manage multiple files simultaneously in a context of changing priorities
  
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing methods and technical processes

The ideal candidate will be able to produce clear and precise drawings, understand site realities well, and maintain a high level of quality even when deadlines are tight.

The successful candidate must demonstrate:

• relevant experience in building or industrial drafting
  
• experience in exterior cladding, building envelope, metal structures, manufacturing, or related fields, a strong asset
  
• good ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents
  
• experience in preparing production plans and execution drawings
  
• good understanding of site realities and installation constraints
  
• good mastery of AutoCAD
  
• knowledge of Solid Edge or similar software, an asset
  
• good mastery of office tools
  
• ability to work accurately while maintaining a good execution speed
  
• ease in collaborating with various technical and operational stakeholders

The manager is present and involved, but the position requires a quick progression towards autonomy as well as clear communication on the actual status of files.
