Quality Control Inspector, Construction Sector

Location: South Shore of Montreal
Job Type: Full-time
Sector: Construction | Building | Multi-family and Institutional
Salary: 70,000$ to 90,000$

Job Summary

Do you have solid experience in construction and are recognized for your attention to detail, rigor, and ability to quickly spot discrepancies before they become problems?

We are looking for a quality control inspector to join a well-established Quebec company operating in the residential, multi-family, and institutional building construction sector.

The position is based on the South Shore of Montreal and is aimed at someone who wishes to remain close to operations, quality, and construction teams, in a structured environment where their technical expertise will have a concrete impact on the quality of delivered projects.

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for verifying the compliance of work performed according to plans, specifications, applicable standards, and established work methods. You will work closely with production teams to quickly identify non-conformities, propose appropriate corrections, and contribute to the continuous improvement of practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for a foreman, superintendent, quality inspector, or any other construction professional who wishes to leverage their technical expertise in a role focused on quality, compliance, and process improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Inspect completed work to validate its quality and compliance
  • Ensure that work complies with established plans, specifications, standards, and construction methods
  • Identify non-conformities and ensure follow-up on corrections
  • Collaborate with supervisors to maintain high-quality standards
  • Support teams in resolving technical issues
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of work methods
  • Contribute to the deployment of new practices and optimization initiatives
  • Document observations and ensure required follow-ups
  • Promote best practices among construction teams
  • Contribute to maintaining a culture of quality and compliance

Desired Profile

The desired profile:

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in construction
  • Experience as a quality inspector, foreman, superintendent, or in a similar role
  • Excellent understanding of the various stages of construction
  • Good ability to read and interpret technical plans
  • Good knowledge of the Building Code
  • Strong knowledge in quality control and compliance
  • Ability to quickly analyze situations and propose concrete solutions
  • Great rigor and attention to detail
  • Good professional judgment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Team spirit and collaborative approach

On a human level, we are looking for someone recognized for their technical credibility, rigor, and professionalism. Someone who can observe, analyze, and intervene tactfully to improve the quality of work while maintaining excellent collaboration with teams.

The role will particularly suit someone passionate about construction quality and who wishes to have a concrete impact on projects, without primarily occupying a site management role.

Work Environment

You will evolve in an environment where quality, compliance, and continuous improvement hold significant importance.

The role requires regular presence on operations to observe work, support teams, and ensure compliance with quality standards. You will work in collaboration with supervisors and various technical stakeholders in a context where problem prevention is as important as problem resolution.

The environment will particularly suit a methodical, autonomous, and solution-oriented person who enjoys understanding the causes of a problem as much as finding ways to avoid it in the future.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • 4 weeks of vacation upon hiring
  • Group insurance after 3 months
  • RRSP / DPSP with employer contribution
  • Stable and well-established work environment
  • Modern facilities and safe working environment
