Logistics and Supply Technician

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Quebec region, is looking for a Logistics and Supply Technician to play a key role in coordinating transportation, shipments, and supporting supply operations.

Your Role

Reporting to the supply chain and logistics manager, you will primarily be responsible for coordinating logistics activities related to customer projects. Your mandate will be to ensure the efficient movement of goods, support internal teams in planning shipments, and contribute to the implementation of best logistics practices.

Your Responsibilities

Logistics and Transportation — about 70% of the role

  • Organize the logistics and delivery of products to customers, primarily by road transport;
  • Coordinate shipments with project teams, shipping teams, and external partners;
  • Prepare, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of the documentation required for shipments;
  • Coordinate information related to customs documents;
  • Negotiate, compare, and optimize transportation costs;
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with carriers and logistics partners;
  • Establish agreements with logistics partners as needed;
  • Organize warehousing solutions when required;
  • Participate in the implementation of good logistics practices to improve efficiency, structure, and cost management;
  • Contribute to making logistics processes clearer, smoother, and better aligned with the needs of internal teams.

Supply — about 30% of the role

  • Prepare purchase orders and order certain materials or components necessary for projects;
  • Perform required transactions in the ERP system;
  • Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure follow-up on needs;
  • Participate in certain negotiations with suppliers, as needed;
  • Ensure rigorous follow-up on orders, deadlines, and priorities related to projects.

The Desired Profile

  • College or university education in supply chain management, logistics, transportation, or any other relevant field;
  • Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or goods coordination in a manufacturing, industrial, or technical environment;
  • Good understanding of transportation regulations and customs documents;
  • Bilingualism in French and English is essential;
  • Good mastery of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Experience with an ERP system is an asset;
  • Knowledge of sheet metal or structural steel is an asset.
