Electromechanic or Mechanic

A well-established manufacturing company in the forestry sector is currently looking for an electromechanic or mechanic to join its team.

Your main responsibilities

In this role, you will be called to:

• Work safely on a daily basis and actively contribute to improving the prevention culture;
  
• Identify the causes of breakdowns, analyze them, and determine appropriate corrective actions;
  
• Perform necessary repairs during minor or major breakdowns;
  
• Participate in weekly maintenance;
  
• Carry out various preventive maintenance tasks;
  
• Order necessary parts for interventions;
  
• Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems on equipment.
  

Schedules, experience, and salary

Weekday position – Day

• Schedule from Monday to Thursday;
  
• 43 hours per week;
  
• Salary: $32 to $35/hour, depending on experience;
  
• Junior to intermediate profile accepted;
  
• Experience: 0 to 2 years and more, depending on the profile.
  

Weekend position – Day

• Schedule from Friday to Sunday;
  
• 33 hours actually worked;
  
• 36 hours paid;
  
• Salary: $29 to $39/hour, depending on experience;
  
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required;
  
• A good autonomy in diagnosis and intervention on equipment is sought.
  

Desired training

You must hold one of the following qualifications:

• DEP in electromechanics;
  
• DEP in industrial mechanics;
  
• DEC in industrial electronics, instrumentation, and control;
  
• DEC in electrical engineering.
  

Holding a CÉ license – Electrical certificate is an asset.

Desired skills

The ideal candidate has:

• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, Logix 5000 and 500;
  
• Knowledge of Omron PLCs;
  
• Knowledge of Yaskawa VFDs;
  
• A good mechanical aptitude;
  
• Computer skills;
  
• A good ability to work under pressure;
  
• Resourcefulness;
  
• A good analytical mind;
  
• Attention to detail and a concern for quality work;
  
• A good team spirit.
