Job Description

A well-established contractor in the civil engineering sector is looking for a project director to play a pivotal role in the performance of their team. This position is halfway between strategy and human support; it does not involve directly managing projects, but rather mentoring project managers, resolving operational issues, and ensuring the team's skill development.

Are you recognized for your compassionate leadership, technical expertise, and ability to uplift others? This role could be a perfect fit for you.

Main Responsibilities

  • Mentor, support, and coach a team of civil engineering project managers

  • Act as an operational filter between field teams and management

  • Resolve 70 to 80% of project issues at the front line

  • Participate in complex technical discussions, without direct site management

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and internal practices

  • Contribute to the development of skills and the improvement of the team

  • Provide mobilizing leadership focused on rigor, listening, and collaboration

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of project management processes

Desired Profile

  • University degree in civil engineering (or technical degree with equivalent experience)

  • 10 years of experience or more in civil project management

  • Strong technical credibility and ability to intervene strategically

  • Coaching-type leadership: human, mobilizing, unifying

  • Proficiency with digital tools: TPL (estimation) and MS Project (scheduling)

  • Collaborative spirit and ability to manage with listening, rigor, and humility

  • Experience in a financially transparent and autonomous environment

Offered Benefits

  • Competitive salary between $140,000 and $150,000 based on experience

  • Annual performance bonus between 5% and 10%

  • Vehicle provided + gas

  • Flexible schedule around 40 hours/week (no hour banking)

  • Occasional remote work allowed based on season and performance

  • Comprehensive group insurance (medications, dental care, paramedical)

  • Health account: $500 (individual) or $1,000 (family)

  • 4 weeks of vacation: 2 paid weeks during the holidays + 2 floating

  • Human approach based on trust (no rigid bank of sick days)

  • Environment based on autonomy and collective excellence
