Estimator

About the Job

We are looking for a rigorous and motivated estimator to join our team. You will be responsible for analyzing plans and specifications, preparing bids, and tracking costs related to projects. Your role is essential to ensure the profitability and competitiveness of our proposals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technical details and drawings to bid on, prepare and issue proposals.

  • Prepare or organize the preparation of cost estimates for design, manufacturing, or general work.

  • Review specifications and drawings to define the project scope.

  • Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors and ensure follow-up.

  • Keep work files, confirmations, and price lists up to date.

  • Propose optimal solutions based on cost, quality, and availability of materials.

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and partners.


Requirements

Desired Skills

  • Excellent proficiency in computer tools (Excel, management and estimation software, AutoCAD or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of plans, specifications, and technical specifications.

  • Ability to analyze data and produce accurate estimates.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with clients and suppliers.

  • Rigorous, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

  • Analytical mindset, organization, and autonomy.

Experience and Qualifications

  • College diploma (DEC) in construction estimation, architecture, mechanical design, or related training.

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role (estimator, project manager, architectural or construction technician).

  • Knowledge of construction materials and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience in project estimation in the architectural, mechanical, or industrial field (asset).

  • Bilingualism (French and English), oral and written.
