Estimator – Hydroelectric Projects

As a hydroelectric construction estimator, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing cost estimates for hydroelectric infrastructure projects (dams, substations, power plants, lines, related works);
  

• Analyzing plans, specifications, and contractual documents;
  

• Participating in planning and bidding strategies;
  

• Conducting quantity take-offs and assessing labor, material, and equipment needs;
  

• Collaborating closely with engineering, project management, and procurement teams;
  

• Evaluating technical and financial risks associated with projects;
  

• Participating in negotiations and clarification meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  

Profile

Your Profile

• Degree in civil engineering, construction estimation, or any other relevant training;
  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimation for hydroelectric projects (ideally Hydro-Québec);
  

• Excellent understanding of standards and requirements specific to the hydroelectric sector;
  

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  

• Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office suite tools;
  

• Rigorous, analytical mindset, and developed strategic sense.
