About the Position
The role is essential to accelerate design, streamline production, and reduce delays related to drawings and planning.
Your Role
You will be responsible for transforming engineering concepts and guidelines into clear, precise, and actionable manufacturing plans, while closely collaborating with production.
This is a very hands-on position, at the heart of operations.
Main Responsibilities
Design and Planning
Produce 2D technical drawings for factory manufacturing.
Complete the planning: tolerances, dimensions, manufacturing notes.
Apply best practices for tolerancing and mechanical assembly.
Update and manage drawing revisions.
Manufacturing and Plant Support
Work directly with production to ensure understanding of plans.
Support the plant with technical questions, adjustments, or corrections.
Participate in optimizing manufacturing methods (steel, welded mechanics).
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured parts.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve the clarity of drawings and speed of execution.
Reduce errors, rework, and delays related to design.
Contribute to the standardization of certain parts or methods when possible.
Desired Profile
Requirements
College diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience in mechanical design or planning in a manufacturing environment.
Good ability to read, understand, and produce technical drawings.
Comfortable with the realities of factory manufacturing.
Rigorous, autonomous, and practical mindset.
Assets
Experience in steel manufacturing / welded mechanics.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods (welding, assembly).
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
Experience in inspection or quality control.
Conditions
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience.
