Do you have a good foundation in accounting and are now looking for a position where you can gain autonomy, develop new expertise, and contribute concretely to operations?
We are looking for a curious, resourceful person who is comfortable with digital tools to join an established accounting team in the Quebec region.
The opening is due to the upcoming departure of an employee for a maternity leave of more than a year. However, the organization wishes to train and integrate a person who can continue their journey in the team long-term if they thrive and meet the expectations of the role.
An opportunity to learn without being left alone
You will be supported by experienced accounting managers and will work collaboratively with a small team. A training period is planned before the departure of the person you will be replacing.
Have you never worked in the automotive sector? Your application can still be considered. Experience in this field is an advantage, but there is a real openness towards a person who has a good accounting foundation, learns quickly, and is not afraid to take initiatives.
A role that will evolve over time
Upon your arrival, your daily tasks will mainly involve accounting for sales files. You will learn to understand, validate, and record transactions with multiple components.
You will also participate in monitoring accounts receivable, collections, deposits, and accounting entries.
When the employee on maternity leave returns, your role will further evolve towards:
- Processing accounts payable and receivable;
- Validating and coding invoices;
- Monitoring payments and collections;
- General ledger entries and balancing of sub-ledgers;
- Supporting month-end activities;
- Maintaining a portion of the accounting for sales files.
What will help you succeed
- A degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience;
- About three years of experience in accounting functions;
- A good mastery of Excel and Microsoft Office tools;
- A real ease with computer systems and digital processes;
- Attention to detail, autonomy, and a good team spirit;
- The ability to take initiatives and seek solutions.
Experience in an automotive dealership, sales accounting, or managing accounts payable and receivable will be considered an important asset.
What is offered
- A permanent job of 40 hours per week;
- A flexible schedule;
- A team available to support your learning;
- Group insurance;
- A group RRSP;
- Two to three weeks of vacation depending on experience;
- A quick start to benefit from a structured training period.
