A well-established Quebec company in the construction sector is looking for a project manager to take charge of building and formwork projects, from preparation to monitoring their profitability. Here, you don’t just coordinate schedules behind a screen. You work directly with site teams, the superintendent, foremen, and various technical stakeholders to prepare the work, anticipate needs, resolve issues, and move projects forward.

You also keep a close eye on budgets, contractual changes, and costs to know where your project really stands.

In concrete terms, your daily routine will look like this

• Take charge of the preparation, start-up, and execution of your projects.
  
• Review submissions, budgets, and schedules and ensure follow-up on necessary adjustments.
  
• Plan the work and participate in start-up meetings with internal teams and clients.
  
• Work closely with the superintendent and foremen to determine work methods and needs for labor, equipment, and documentation.
  
• Prepare the necessary elements for site mobilization and start-up.
  
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and compliance of the work.
  
• Support field teams when issues arise.
  
• Evaluate and negotiate modifications, additions, and extra work.
  
• Ensure administrative and financial follow-up of projects.
  
• Analyze costs and monitor the profitability of your projects. 
  

The profile we would like to meet

You could fit well if you have:

• A DEC in building techniques, a degree in civil engineering or construction management, or a relevant combination of training and experience.
  
• Experience in construction project management or in a similar role.
  
• A good understanding of planning, costs, contracts, and execution on site.
  
• Good mastery of the Office suite and MS Project.
  
• Leadership and excellent ability to manage your priorities.
  
• Autonomy, rigor, and technical curiosity.
  
• An ability to adapt when the reality of the site changes.
  
• Clear communication and a very collaborative approach.
