Your main responsibilities as a building structural engineer:
- Perform design calculations and ensure that plans comply with guidelines, code requirements, and other regulations.
- Design and monitor multidisciplinary concrete, steel, or wood projects of various sizes and in various sectors.
- Verify and/or prepare submission plans in collaboration with team members.
- Verify the plans of the architect and mechanical engineer assigned to the project.
- Establish and maintain contact with clients to define needs, present technical information, concepts, or study results (if applicable).
- Supervise the work of technicians, drafters, and design consultants.
- Participate in project meetings. Project launch with clients and involved professionals.
- Ensure the quality of on-site work (site visits) and participate in site meetings.
- Resolve technical issues by applying specific standards and guidelines.
- All other tasks related to the role of building structural engineer.
The profile sought:
- 2 years of experience as a building structural engineer (in the consulting engineering field or other in Quebec)
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or in the process of becoming one soon
- Knowledge of building standards and codes
- Proficiency or knowledge of structural design software
- Professionalism, rigor, and the ability to collaborate in a team
- Written and spoken language: French
