POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN

DEPARTMENT: TEACHER TRAINING – ADULT EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

SALARY: FROM $24.21 TO $32.32 AN HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

DURATION: FROM APRIL UNTIL JUNE 2024, WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

  • Prepare group/individual travel, payment of invoices and arranging payment of travel claims;
  • Lead the coordination of the Students on Ice file;
  • Request Temporary Teaching Authorizations and Tolerances from the MEESR for teachers who are not yet certified and give a follow up to the requests alongside the Administration Officer;
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director and the Administration Officer in the preparation of annual reports to be presented to the MEESR, to McGill and to the Commissioners;
  • Any other related task, as directed by the immediate supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

College diploma (DEC) in administration or a diploma or attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the Board.

 

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

 

requirements:

  • Fluency in two of the three languages of the Board (Inuktitut, English, French)
  • Experience working in Training and Research is an asset.
  • Occasional travel will be required.
  • Understanding of government forms in French is a definite asset.

 

work schedule:   35 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

 

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff, this position belongs to job category 4211: from $24.21 to $32.32 an hour depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
