Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
Under the supervision of the Director of School Operations, the Coordinator assesses the particular needs of schools in terms of school organization and teaching resources.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
- Support and mentor new principals and vice principals.
- Coordinate communication with the Principals.
- Coordinate & prepare Principals’ meetings.
- Update Principals’ handbook;
- Assist in yearly assignments;
- Develop and update policies concerning school organization and make sure, once adopted, it is well communicated to the Principals;
- Identify and coordinate Special Grants, inform and manage the sharing of information
- Ensure collaboration with outside organizations
- Coordinate practicum placements with HR
- Offer support related to field trips and excursions
- Support Principals on school budget matters;
- Coordinate the New Paths program;
- Any other related tasks as determined by the Director of School Operations.
qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold a senior executive or senior staff position in a school board for which an undergraduate degree is required under the minimum qualifications;
- Five (5) years relevant experience;
- A permanent teaching permit issued by the MEQ or a teaching licence recognized under the Education Act for Cree, Inuit and Naskapi Native Persons (R.S.Q., c. I-14).
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
requirements:
- A minimum of three (3) years in Northern educational systems, preferably within the Kativik School Board;
- Must be thoroughly familiar with the “Régime Pédagogique” and KI educational programs;
- Experience in recruitment will be an asset;
- Fluency in at least two of the working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, English);
- Must be prepared for frequent travel throughout Nunavik.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 00-08* as per the working conditions of managers / from $90 887 to $121 180 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
