AS SOON AS POSSIBLE Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board providing educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik. Are you completing your teacher training this year? Ideal candidates will be passionate about working with elementary to secondary school students with diverse learning needs.
FUNCTIONS and TASKS:
- Conduct assessments to determine students' learning abilities and difficulties.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on assessment results and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in the local special education committee.
- Design and implement differentiated instruction tailored to the specific needs of students.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Work closely with parents, guardians, other teachers, and support staff to ensure effective communication and support for each student student.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs to ensure academic success.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of student achievements and challenges.
- Stay informed of current trends, techniques, and best practices in special education.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and training sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in special education, education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certificate, license, or provisional teaching authorization in Quebec or the equivalent in another Canadian province.
- Master's degree in special education, a asset
The School Board may, at its discretion, disregard the above-mentioned qualifications if it deems the application of a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) appropriate and the person agrees to follow a training program determined by the Board.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Salary and benefits are in accordance with those proposed in the collective agreement for teaching staff of the school board, between $54,119 and $105,432 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. qualifications.
