Coordinator
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Human Resources (Talent Acquisition), the incumbent must, in particular:
- Assume assigned responsibilities in the recruitment (planning, selection, administrative hiring, onboarding, probationary period), as well as retention of staff.
- Ensure staff classification and the administration of premiums and employee benefits;
- Advise managers on workforce planning and throughout the recruitment process;
- Research and implement recruitment tests;
- Coordinate documentation for the recruitment process;
- Contribute to various organizational development initiatives;
- participate in the development of policies and the implementation of administrative procedures related to staffing;
- Participate in career and future fairs within Nunavik and elsewhere in Canada.
- Advise managers on the application and Interpretation of collective agreements, labour laws, policies, by-laws and directives of the Board.
- Collaborate with the Training Officer to identify training needs.
- Participate in analyzing and identifying professional improvement and training needs.
- Participate in the school board’s recruitment and retention committee;
- Participate in local recruitment initiatives;.
- Supervise, mentor and manage employees under their responsibility.
- Any other tasks required by the Assistant Director of Human Resources (Talent Acquisition).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold a senior executive or senior staff position in a school board for which an undergraduate degree is required under the minimum qualifications.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French).
- School board experience.
- Autonomous worker.
- Excellent organizational and management skills.
- Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of Inuit culture.
- Willingness to travel to Nunavik.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 00-08* as per the working conditions of KI’s managers: from $104,152 to $138,867 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
