Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Directors of Education Services and in cooperation with other administrators of the Youth Services, the Coordinator is responsible for performing the following tasks and duties:
- Support and coordinate curriculum development, update and implement programs, educational approaches and evaluation methods related to first and second languages.
- Using the Professional Learning Community (PLC) approach, develop, update and monitor learning evaluation standards and internal tests in the designated subjects.
- Coordinate and update activities related to the implementation of the curriculum in accordance with MEQ standards.
- Promote collaboration between the First and Second Language teams.
- Oversee the performance of employees under his/her direct responsibility.
- Any other responsibility assigned by his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold a senior executive or senior staff position in a school board for which an undergraduate degree is required under the minimum qualifications.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- A teaching license recognized under the Education Act for Cree, Inuit and Naskapi Native Persons (R.S.Q., c. I-14).
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French).
- Work experience in Kativik Ilisarniliriniq schools is an asset.
- Leadership and ability to promote teamwork.
- Willingness to travel.
- Microsoft Teams proficiency.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 00-08* as per the working conditions of KI’s managers: from $90,887 to $121,180 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
