About the Role: Manager, Property Accounting

This leadership role involves managing the monthly accounting and reporting cycle for various real estate properties. You'll supervise a team, collaborate with management, and contribute to a wide range of accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide a team of property accountants.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial records for various stakeholders.
  • Manage monthly accounting close procedures and the full cycle of accounts payable.
  • Execute daily transactions, track budget variances, and coordinate budget reviews.
  • Provide support for financial analysis across various departments.
  • Handle cash flow management and compliance filings.
  • Collaborate with external accountants and assist with loan financing.
  • Prepare investor reports, financials, and distributions.
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets.

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in property accounting, with demonstrated supervisory experience preferred.
  • CPA, CA designation or actively enrolled in the CPA program (midway through or nearing completion) is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in French and English is a significant asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Yardi software is a plus.
  • Adaptability to work outside of core hours as needed.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead a team.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
