Senior Lawyer - Insurance litigation

Our client is a leading law firm in its field with an excellent reputation on the international legal scene. They are looking to recruit a lawyer to join their growing insurance litigation team.

Overview of the role:

• Providing legal analysis and advice in litigation, focusing on specialty lines of insurance, professional negligence claims, construction professional litigation, and other sectors.
• Analyze legal and factual issues and advise clients.
• Attend examinations for discovery.
• Working with the partners and being actively involved in each step of the files.
• Prepare correspondence to lawyers and clients.
• Work with junior lawyers and act as mentor.
• Maintain relations with the insurers and insureds.
• Review various documents in preparation for litigation.
• Submit filings to the court.
• Appear in court, independently or with partners, to argue motions, attend pre-trials and mediations.

Qualifications:

- JD Common law Program;
- Member of the Ontario Bar or any other Canadian Bar;
- Minimum 6 years experience in insurance and litigation;
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
