Quality Inspector (1 year contract)

Kontron Canada is seeking a Quality Inspector to join her experienced and dynamic team.  This is a one-year contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGES AHEAD:

 

  • Ensure that components/products received match the purchase orders and the list of approved components;
  • Perform a visual and dimensional inspection of incoming components/products according to the approved documentation;
  • Perform ‘’In Process/Final/OBA’’ inspection of products according to the approved documentation;
  • Accomplish pre-functional tests on certain types of incoming material;
  • Write inspection and/or non-compliance reports and distribute them;
  • Document and maintain the quality department activities according to the established processes such as inventory management, calibration of test stations, calibration of screwdrivers;
  • May be required to perform logistical tasks such as receiving/shipping material;
  • May be required on occasion to perform R&R gauges, source and/or process inspections at suppliers and subcontractors as well as visual inspections at customers;
  • Finally, may be asked on occasion to travel within 300 km of the company, or overseas.

 

YOU WILL IMPRESS US IF YOU HAVE:

  • Education: Diploma of vocational studies (DEP) or college diploma (DEC) in electronics or equivalent experience;
  • Experience: Ideally a minimum of 2 years in a similar position;
  • Knowledge: IPC acceptability standards for electronics assembly, mastering of electrical and mechanical measuring instruments, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), mechanical drawing readings, Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Profile: Autonomous, meticulous, organized, responsible, good learning ability, good sense of observation, able to handle heavy loads (15 kg);
  • Assets: Knowledge of the ERP system (SAP), knowledge of assembly and mechanical manufacturing processes (sheet metal, extrusion, coating, riveting, etc.);
  • Languages: French, functional English given inspections at suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
