The incumbent is responsible for analyzing credit accounts (high risk mortgage renewals, HELOC and ULOC accounts, insured rescue solutions, investment loans) and providing solutions directly to customers or other internal departments (Client Services, Collections, Retail etc.).

The incumbent will provide superior service in a high-pressure environment. The incumbent is responsible for complying with the Bank's Credit policies, strong negotiating with clients and advisors, to minimize potential loan losses for the Bank.

Skills required will be a blend of credit analysis, customer service, negotiation, and some knowledge of collection practices and remediation activities.

The role will require a thorough knowledge of debt ratio calculations and application of credit underwriting principles.

Responsibilities 
  • Contact customers based on assigned accounts (high-risk investment loans, upcoming mortgage renewals, line of credit decision tree outputs).
  • For mortgage renewals, the incumbent will apply a risk based pricing and will advise the retail network of the risk premiums.
  • For high risk investment loans, the incumbent will review the customers' current financial health and develop recommendations to remediate the loans in a time frame acceptable to the Bank.
  • For high risk HELOC and ULOC, the incumbent will review the customers' financial health and current credit worthiness; and develop recommendations for approval (payment structure changes, credit limit adjustments etc.)
  • Create and mail out the necessary documents to support their efforts.
  • Co-ordinate effectively with multiple teams, and act as the central point of contact
  • Maintains a high level of product knowledge to provide professional guidance to clients.
  • Keeps informed and up-to-date to various legislation, procedures, standards and policies related to the products and services offered by the Bank and its distribution channels.
  • Submits recommendations to improve work processes to Operations Management.
  • Carries out other tasks at the request of their Management team as required.
 
Qualifications 
  • University Degree or College Diploma in business or a related field, with 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • University degree or College diploma in Business Administration, or in a related field.
  • Successful completion of Credit Management courses or designation through the Credit Institute of Canada is an asset
  • Credit underwriting and pricing experience is an asset
  • Ability to use initiative and good judgment in a decisive but fair manner to resolve difficult situations.
  • Results oriented, diplomatic, and adept at building customer relations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work closely with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and lending products.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook a must;
  • Familiarity with using large and complex financial database systems
  • Bilingual* French/English is a requirement.
* Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
