Are you interested in working for the public safety of schoolchildren? Are you available on an on-call basis and enjoy working outdoors? If so, join our school brigade!

 

Under the supervision of your school brigade supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of schoolchildren when crossing the street. More specifically, your role will consist of:

  • Stopping vehicle traffic using a portable stop sign;
  • Communicating to children and parents using the school crossing the instructions to follow for a safe crossing;
  • Ensuring the safe crossing of children according to the methods taught in the S.A.A.Q. brigadier manual;
  • Reporting to the responsible person the description of any loiterer seen near the school;
  • Notifying emergency services when a child is injured and attending to them until the arrival of patrollers or an ambulance.
The ideal profile for us
  • Be available, Monday to Friday at any time, during the school year (late August to late June), three (3) times a day (morning, noon, and end of classes), on call;
  • Experience working in public safety and/or in teaching is an asset;
  • Have an interest in customer service;
  • Be reliable, resourceful, and possess good judgment;
  • Own a vehicle and have a valid driver's license (you will be required to serve within a radius of 5-10 km from your residence);
  • Good physical condition (including vision and hearing) and ability to work outdoors, regardless of weather conditions;
  • Have no judicial impediment related to the job;
  • Bilingualism and a third language will be considered assets.
