The challenges that await you

Under the authority of the immediate supervisor, you act as a civil security specialist with various stakeholders. You conduct studies, analyses, and develop tools as well as indicators to increase risk awareness, assess issues, define priorities, improve activities related to your area of expertise, and contribute to the dissemination of information. You make recommendations regarding the definition, development, and implementation of policies, strategies, action plans, programs, and projects in your area of expertise. Additionally, you establish and maintain exchange and support relationships with City partners and other external stakeholders.

More specifically:

  • Develop and create methodologies, analysis and planning tools, and indicators to increase risk awareness and response levels, and to improve activities and develop analysis grids for occurrence problems and their impacts. Coordinate the dissemination and implementation of the developed tools.
  • Act as a civil security specialist with various stakeholders by providing them with a model and tools for identifying, analyzing, and assessing potential risks in the territory.
  • Advise the administration in the definition, development, or implementation and monitoring of action plans, policies, strategies, programs, and projects related to your area of expertise.
  • Conduct research, perform studies and analyses, and develop reports in the field of prevention and intervention in civil security.
  • Evaluate issues and recommend directions and policies based on changes. Develop, write, and propose to your supervisor, policy drafts, working methods, and procedures relevant to your area of expertise, and ensure their application.
  • Participate in internal and external working groups and maintain exchange relationships with private or public organizations.
  • Gather information from various partners, analyze the necessary information, and present the results to your immediate supervisor in the form of reports, statistics, summaries, etc.

The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree related to risk management;
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in:
    • risk management or civil security
    • risk analysis
    • project management
    • geographic information system (GIS) - an asset
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding civil security;
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding land use planning, environment - an asset;
