Laval, an island of exceptions, is looking for a passionate and results-oriented individual to take the helm of water management. The mandate is to provide the Laval population with a drinking water supply and exemplary wastewater treatment while respecting applicable standards, ensuring sustainable water resource management, all in a safe, reliable, environmentally respectful, and financially responsible manner.

The challenges ahead

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager of Infrastructure, your mandate is to strategically manage, in alignment with the corporate plan and directions, all resources and activities related to the production and distribution of drinking water, the collection and treatment of wastewater, as well as stormwater management.

As a key player in urban development, you ensure the maintenance and performance of water infrastructure in Laval. You define the strategic directions, objectives, and action plans for the service, as well as policies and guidelines in accordance with laws and regulations, to ensure their sustainability and capacity to meet the current and future needs of the citizens of Laval.

You ensure the efficient and safe operation of drinking water production and distribution facilities, as well as the collection, pumping, and treatment facilities for wastewater and stormwater, in accordance with current regulations, and you ensure the protection of public health and the environment.

With the support of your management team, you develop, implement, and ensure rigorous monitoring of control and accountability mechanisms. These guarantee the application of policies, programs, and action plans, with a view to sustainable development.

As a strategic leader, you develop partnerships and maintain influential relationships with city services and various external stakeholders to promote the realization of structuring projects and the achievement of the Service's objectives.

The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, water engineering, environmental engineering, or any other relevant training;
  • Hold a master's degree (asset);
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the role, including solid management experience;
  • Have experience in transformation contexts;
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
