In collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security, the SPL has established a diversity AEC program in police techniques.
As an integral part of the Recruitment axis of the SPL Justice and Equity program, this program also represents an opportunity to enhance the profession of police officer and encourages a culture focused on inclusion and diversity.
Following the successful completion of the selection process, candidates who qualify for this recruitment program have the chance to be offered:
- A place in the College Studies Attestation Program (AEC) in Police Techniques
- A place in the 15-week patrol-gendarmerie program at the École Nationale de police du Québec in Nicolet
- Following, among other things, the successful completion of these 2 training programs, it is possible to obtain a position in a dynamic police force whose values are integrity, respect, innovation, teamwork, communication, diversity, and inclusion.
Plan for approximately $13,000 to cover the costs of these 2 training programs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Belonging to a visible or ethnic minority.
- Holding a bachelor's degree or a DEC or an equivalent (you must have a comparative evaluation of studies completed outside Quebec issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration, if applicable)
- Holding Canadian citizenship.
- Being of good character.
- Holding a valid class 5 driver's license.
- Being in good physical shape (you will need to pass the standardized physical aptitude test (ESAP), swimming tests, etc.).
Selection Process
Our selection process includes:
- a pre-selection aptitude inventory
- an interview
- a psychometric evaluation
- a security clearance
- a medical examination at the time of hiring (no fees to be paid)
- a comprehensive review of the file (an update is necessary upon your exit from the ÉNPQ).
