The challenges that await you

Reporting to the Deputy Director, you supervise and lead a team responsible for preparing and monitoring the City's operating budget, as well as overseeing the three-year and ten-year capital plan in compliance with applicable laws, budget, accounting standards, and tax regulations.

As a member of the Service management team, you collaborate to ensure its smooth operation and contribute to achieving its objectives. You assess and recommend the human, material, and financial resource needs required for the successful execution of the activities under your responsibility and manage the budgets allocated to you. You submit detailed reports and may be called upon to make presentations regarding the activities for which you are responsible.

Results-oriented, you guide, direct, and supervise team members in accomplishing their respective mandates, determine the general order of priorities, define objectives, and communicate your expectations. You evaluate performance, recognize achievements, and promote staff development by recommending their training.

The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting sciences or equivalent;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA);
  • Have ten (10) years of relevant experience in the role, including 5 years in a management position;
  • Ability to navigate a vast and complex legal framework;
  • Experience in financial systems management and project management is desirable;
  • Municipal experience is desirable.
