The challenges that await you

Under the authority of the Deputy Director of the Urban Planning Service, you will ensure the matrix coordination of the Specific Urban Planning Program (PPU) for downtown Laval. In this capacity, you act as a catalyst for the implementation of the action plan, ensuring cross-project follow-up, coherence of interventions, and mobilization of internal and external partners. You also serve as the coordinator for strategic projects within the department.

You will oversee the overall coordination of the PPU action plan and the mandates under your responsibility, ensuring the follow-up of the progress of files with various municipal services. You will contribute to the prioritization of initiatives to ensure the achievement of objectives and intervene proactively with collaborators when required.

 

In carrying out your duties, you will act as the primary contact for elected officials, citizens, municipal services, and partners, to promote transparency and mobilization. You will play a role of influence and leadership, produce analyses, and formulate recommendations by highlighting issues, problems, costs, and associated risks. You will work closely with municipal services, developers, and institutional partners to ensure project alignment with the city’s strategic vision.

 

As a member of the management team, you will actively contribute to achieving the department's objectives and its proper functioning. You will adopt a management approach focused on customer service and ensure the optimal and efficient use of human, material, financial, and informational resources under your responsibility.

 

More specifically, you will be required to:

 

  • Establish tracking tools, performance indicators, and dashboards to measure the progress of projects under your responsibility;
  • Develop a communication network and maintain constant relationships with various stakeholders;
  • Organize, sit on, and lead committees related to the activities for which you will be responsible, participate in finding solutions, and formulate recommendations.
The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in urban planning, land use planning, architecture, regional development, or a related field;
  • Hold a master's degree in urban planning, land use planning, architecture, regional development, project management, or a related field, an asset;
  • Have 6 to 9 years of experience in coordinating strategic or large-scale projects in urban planning or land use planning;
  • PMI (Project Management Institute), an asset.
