Reporting to the main aquatic manager, you are responsible for the operational activities of Laval's aquatic programs. You work closely with the professional team dedicated to guidance and planning.
You supervise, in collaboration with the professional team, the employees and service contracts assigned to the supervision, animation, and maintenance of aquatic facilities and equipment, notably by establishing performance standards to be met, controlling qualitative and quantitative performance, attendance, punctuality, and discipline, and recommending actions to be taken. You ensure staff training and ensure they comply with health and safety rules and standards at work.
You collaborate on the opening and closing of facilities, maintenance, and orders for required materials and equipment. You participate in the annual budget preparation by assessing needs for human and material resources and submitting usage proposals. Additionally, you manage the budgets allocated to the activities for which you are responsible.
- Hold a degree in recreation, human resources, industrial relations, or other relevant fields;
- Have relevant experience, including 3 years in personnel supervision in a unionized environment;
- Hold a current national lifeguard certification (NL), swimming instructor (SI), and rescue instructor (RI);
- Good knowledge of aquatic systems and equipment;
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Possess a valid driver's license;
- Experience in a municipal environment is an asset.
