The challenges that await you

Reporting to the immediate supervisor, the project manager for major projects is responsible for the implementation of major projects led by the Service. More specifically, the incumbent will be tasked with planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all phases of project management for which they are responsible, in accordance with the governance framework for major projects and programs of the City of Laval. They will be responsible for ensuring collaboration among all stakeholders, closely monitoring timelines, and acting as the responsible party to maximize efficiency in terms of costs, deadlines, scope, and quality of work.

The ideal profile for us

SPRP

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des architectes du Québec;
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the construction field, including 5 years in managing major projects corresponding to the following specification:
    • Having significantly participated in a project valued at $50M in present value;
  • Experience in the industrial field is an asset;
  • Have a good knowledge and have significantly participated in a project in an alternative mode, an asset;
  • Experience in an operated environment or in a 24/7 operational context is an asset;
  • Knowledge of 3D visualization tools;
  • Proficient in MS Office suite tools, including Microsoft Project.

IPEP

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des architectes du Québec;
  • Have 10 years of relevant experience in the construction field, including 5 years in managing major projects;
  • Have knowledge of construction codes and standards;
  • Proficient in MS Office suite tools, including MS-Project.

ING

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des architectes du Québec;
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the construction field, including 5 years in managing major projects;
  • Have knowledge of construction codes and standards;
  • Proficient in MS Office suite tools, including MS-Project.

GE

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Have 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in managing major projects in civil engineering, municipal engineering, or construction:
    • Having significantly participated in a project valued at $10M in present value;
    • Having significantly participated in a project related to water or in an industrial context.
  • Being PMP certified is an asset;
  • Proficient in MS Office suite tools, including MS-Project.
