Perform various technical and analytical tasks necessary to support the environmental orientations of the municipality regarding the management of natural environments by conducting biological characterization studies, ecological value analyses, and writing reports.
Participate in the drafting of requests for certificates of authorization under applicable legislation for future development projects of the City and provide environmental recommendations to citizens, developers, and their consultants.
- Conduct field inspections and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Collect data and samples necessary for conducting a biological characterization study, analyze the ecological value of the inventoried natural environments, and write biological characterization study reports.
- Write technical documents such as inspection reports detailing the conditions and provide recommendations. Collect and compile data, produce analyses and various types of statistics.
- Notify citizens, as well as industries, businesses, and institutions, of non-compliance issues, observed violations, and required corrections, and carry out the necessary follow-ups.
- Monitor and update dashboards, performance indicators, and geomatics databases related to natural environments and interpretation panels. Conduct research, compile statistical data, and produce various documents (reports, tables, etc.).

- Hold a diploma in natural environments, bioecology, or other relevant training for the position;
- Have two (2) years of relevant experience;
- Interest in biological mosquito control, eco-responsible events, waste management, and pesticide control;
- Knowledge of provincial and municipal regulations regarding natural environments (watercourses, wetlands, shorelines, urban forests, and others);
- Ability to recognize plant species in the area as well as to delineate wetlands and the high water line (an asset);
- Knowledge in geomatics (an asset);
- Good knowledge of the Laval territory (an asset);
- Knowledge in natural environment restoration (an asset);
- Hold a valid class 5 driver's license.
