Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Quality and Methods Manager will be responsible for improving and implementing effective processes and tools to support the delivery of optimization projects and the management of the quality assurance program. The person will be called upon to support different departments in order to improve their ways of doing things. With his/her knowledge of quality management and continuous improvement tools, including LEAN, the manager will provide a structured approach to meet needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify improvement opportunities and take charge of projects (e.g. study of layouts of different workstations in order to optimize space and increase productivity, support the operations team in various procurement and optimization tasks, issue corrective and preventive actions by department, write/improve/update various company processes, optimize physical plant inventories, etc.)
  • Maintain the quality assurance program and its improvement, as well as in ISO certification activities
  • Implement and maintain performance indicators at the quality and continuous improvement level for different departments
  • Implement an effective management system for non-conformities (NC) and support teams as needed
  • Participate in internal audits and make the necessary corrections as needed
  • Lead and coordinate continuous improvement activities: Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, VSM, etc.
  • Train and coach teams in relation to methods and quality
  • Supervise 1 methods technician

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or DEC in industrial engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Lean tools
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is an asset
  • Proficiency in French, functional English (asset)
  • Dynamic person, with a good ability to implement changes
  • Ability to positively influence peers
  • Good emotional intelligence to mobilize teams while challenging the status quo
  • Rigor and discipline while having business acumen
  • Good leadership level and adaptability
