Job Description

Reporting to the Financial Director, the Chief Accountant for Transactional Services is responsible for managing the accounts payable and receivable transactions team. More specifically, he or she will:

  • Set priorities and ensure that tasks are completed within the expected time frame, and measure results and follow up
  • Perform end-of-month analyses and participate in the reconciliation of year-end reports
  • Prepare monthly and weekly management reports for management (cash collection report and department performance indicators)
  • Supervise the performance of corporate and compliance activities (taxes, deposits, provisionals, tax returns, etc.)
  • Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of transactional processes
  • Establish and maintain a relationship with operations and payroll managers to ensure that quality inputs are obtained for the production of financial statements and control of cash management
  • Make improvements to the period-end process and ensure compliance with the financial statement release schedule
  • Participate in the production of financial analyses and dashboards (tools), the budget process and the establishment of cost prices
  • Participate in the year-end process and collaborate in the preparation of the year-end audit
  • Act as a resource person for his/her team and managers of department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least 1 year of experience or DEC in accounting with 5 to 7 years of experience
  • In-depth mastery of accounting principles
  • Good leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems effectively
  • Good command of accounting software and computer tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
