The Project Manager will assist the Vice- President of Operations in project planning, guidance and analysis for project management and mechanical and electrical maintenance for the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define the scope of projects, in collaboration with the senior management team
- Plan and monitor development, maintenance and building projects, in collaboration with operations managers
- Prepare budgets, purchase orders, approve all documents and project subcontracting contracts (notices of changes, deficiencies , statements, delivery memos, workshop drawings, etc.)
- Interpret, understand and respect plans and specifications
- Plan, coordinate and schedule subcontractors and construction stages
- Ensure the management of risks and changes related to the project
- Identify opportunities and threats that may affect the project
- Manage meetings and communications between the different project partners
- Ensure that all work is completed on time and on budget, quantify work orders and invoices, make requests for payments and track them
- Organize and coordinate project flows
- Monitor and verify compliance with current standards and laws (permits, subcontractors, provisional acceptance and termination of contract)
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards
- Ensure that department documentation is maintained in ISO mode
- Ensure that the department's performance indicators are maintained
- Use planning tools to present in a global way the different stages of the projects in progress (tasks – actions, subcontractors, shopping list, start – end date, costs, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or DEC in mechanical engineering or similar
- 3 to 5 years of experience relevant
- Experience in project management and tool development
- Good communication in French and English
- Good knowledge of Ms Office, Ms Project and CMMS software, as well as Autocad/Mechanical Desktop software
- Demonstrate autonomy, resourcefulness and good stress management
- Have a good sense of organization and responsibility
- Good communicator, with good teamwork skills
- Have leadership and initiative, as well as good negotiation skills
- Good management of priorities and ability to resolve problematic situations
- Common sense of adapting to change
