Refrigeration Engineer (Intermediate)

Intermediate Refrigeration Engineer – Toronto

As part of an integrated project team, this refrigeration engineer will design food & beverage, pharma and biotech process systems. With a potential option to be located in any of our Canada based office, the future team member will report to the Lead Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the design and analysis of refrigeration plants and systems
  • Perform CAD and drafting of refrigeration systems schematics and layouts in AutoCAD
  • Perform and/or supervise drafting of refrigeration systems schematics and layouts in Revit and/or Plant3D
  • Conduct safety and code compliance audits
  • Participate in the development of refrigeration related SOPs, HAZOPS and other safety analysis
  • Conduct site inspections of refrigeration systems
  • Write, format and proof-read specifications, proposals, reports, templates and other documents
  • Organize and maintain project records
  • Provide support and build relationships with new and existing clients
  • Collaborate with internal and external team members

Key Requirements:

  • 2-3+ years of experience of industrial refrigeration system design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration and piping codes and standards
  • A degree or diploma in mechanical or chemical engineering or qualifications in a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in communicating effectively using technology.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Energetic and motivated problem solver
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software packages including Revit, Plant 3D and P&ID is considered an asset
