From our Quebec office, you will work on varied and stimulating building mechanics projects, in a relaxed environment where everyone can flourish and develop their skills. At Laporte, each project is unique, we are therefore looking for a candidate with technical curiosity and wanting to be part of a high-performance team.

Intermediate building mechanical engineer – Quebec.

Responsibilities:

  • HVAC and plumbing system design in factory and laboratory.
  • Design of factory utility systems such as steam, hydronic network, compressed air, clean gas, etc.
  • Drafting technical specifications and studies with reports including principle studies, feasibility studies, preliminary design.
  • Carry out surveys of existing installations, improve existing systems and develop new solutions taking into account existing installations.
  • Evaluate building mechanics construction cost budgets.
  • Participate in site monitoring – services during construction;
  • Carry out energy optimization studies;
  • Project management;
  • Develop contact with customers in order to understand their needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering;
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec;
  • 2 to 10 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in consulting engineering and/or in a factory in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or food fields is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and specialized software e.g. AutoCAD, Revit;
