Project Manager - Carbon and Agri-Environment

Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager – Carbon and Agri-Environment. You will play a key role in the development, coordination, and implementation of innovative carbon projects. You will support agricultural and agri-food partners in adopting sustainable practices, while ensuring rigorous and collaborative project management.

This position is temporary to cover maternity leave.

Main Responsibilities

  • Steering and coordinating the AgroCarbone project (implementation, monitoring, progress reports);
  • Writing technical and monitoring reports for partners and donors;
  • Leading and coordinating multi-stakeholder teams (producers, institutional partners, technical experts);
  • Contributing to technical analyses for GHG quantification and developing tools;
  • Scientific and regulatory monitoring on carbon markets, agricultural carbon, and nature-based solutions (NbS) and agri-environmental methodologies and policies;
  • Communication and dissemination of results to a diverse audience (farmers, partners, decision-makers);
  • Administrative and financial management of projects (budgets, timelines, deliverables);
  • Design, develop, and monitor GHG reduction and sequestration projects in the agri-environmental sector;
  • Advise and support partners in the implementation of NbS and sustainable agricultural practices;

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree in agronomy, environmental sciences, or a related field;
  • Member of the Ordre des agronomes du Québec (a major asset) ;
  • Proven experience in project management (methodologies, coordination, deliverables);
  • Technical expertise in GHG management and nature-based solutions;
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills;
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong mathematical skills (asset);
  • Ability to work in a team and maintain trusting relationships with a variety of partners;
  • Innovative, autonomous, and rigorous.

    • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week;

    • Competitive salary: between $55,000 and $80,000 annually depending on experience.
