The Coop Carbone solidarity cooperative is looking for a motivated and inspiring individual to complete its administrative team. 

Coop Carbone is a solidarity cooperative whose mission is to take action in the face of the climate emergency by supporting the implementation of collaborative projects. Active on the carbon market and in the energy, agriculture/food and mobility sectors, Coop Carbone relies on relationships with its members and its various public and private partners to create projects that generate collective wealth. Its head office is in Quebec City, with a satellite office in Montreal.

Coop Carbone offers greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions quantification services to companies wishing to know their carbon footprint, or to companies wishing to implement GHG emissions reduction projects. Interest in carbon sequestration projects through nature-based solutions and their recognition through voluntary and regulated carbon markets is growing. Coop Carbone develops consulting services for organizations wishing to integrate a nature-based solutions approach. It also brings together key partners in Quebec to develop projects and organize knowledge sharing.

Main functions
Coop Carbone is looking for an accounting and administrative assistant with bookkeeping and accounting expertise. Working closely with the Finance Director, the Executive Assistant and other team members, the successful candidate will also be called upon to carry out various administrative tasks.

The position offered is a hybrid one, representing approximately 70% bookkeeping and accounting tasks and 30% administrative and secretarial tasks.

The successful candidate may be located in our Quebec City or Montreal offices.

Your duties will include:
Assist the Director of Finance in the following areas

- Processing payroll (Nethris) and expense accounts;
- Month-end entries, bank reconciliations and tax returns;
- Financial audit preparation;
- Other accounting tasks.

In collaboration with the Executive Assistant and other team members:

- General secretarial work :
o Proofreading and layout of reports, presentations, service offers, etc. ;
o Organization and logistics of team meetings and/or corporate events with external partners;
o Organize, attend and take minutes at board meetings of affiliated companies:
o Transportation and accommodation reservations and event registrations;

Profile required
- 3 to 5 years relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping and general secretarial work;
- College diploma in accounting techniques is an asset;
- Knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint);
- Excellent level of French (written and spoken);
- Bilingualism an asset;

Conditions of employment :

- Full-time 37.5 h/week;
- 4 weeks vacation/year and 13 days statutory vacations;
- Benefits after 3 months of continuous service (group insurance and group RRSP);
