For all SOX reports issued by internal and external audits:
- Evaluate SOX report findings.
- Assess the severity of reported audit deficiencies and inaccuracies (control deficiency, significant deficiency, material weakness).
- Follow up with the help of operational process and control managers to ensure timely corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
- Manage control owners in Canada to ensure the timely completion of controls and the retention of audit evidence.
- Provide training and guidance to operational process and control managers on Sarbanes-Oxley-related matters or issues they may encounter.
Liaison and management of internal and external auditors:
- Liaise with and manage internal and external auditors regarding audits of the internal control environment and resolve raised issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields;
- CPA designation (an asset);
- Master’s degree in internal control, risk management, accounting, or a similar governance-related field;
- At least five years of experience in internal control, governance, risk management, or related areas;
- Bilingual (French and English) – will need to interact with headquarters. French is the primary working language.
