Your Mandate: Reporting to the Director of Parking Management, the engineer is responsible for supporting the Director in the design, implementation, and monitoring of asset maintenance and redevelopment projects for parking lots.

Your Challenges:

  • Acting as a technical leader in municipal engineering;
  • Conducting studies, reports, technical opinions, plans and specifications, and documents related to the design of projects of various sizes in the field of municipal engineering;
  • Performing project design (geometry, profile, roadway structure, drainage and retention basins, parking, etc.);
  • Designing traffic and signage plans for surface parking lots and obtaining their approval;
  • Preparing specific technical studies, resonance, and preliminary projects prior to projects;
  • Solving complex technical problems requiring research, in-depth analysis, and interdisciplinary coordination;
  • Providing solutions by experimenting with new approaches and applying design criteria innovatively;
  • Supervising the work of less experienced engineers and technicians on projects;
  • Participating in the design or verification of the design of feasibility studies, preliminary projects, and plans and specifications for projects according to city requirements, districts, and applicable standards;
  • Coordinating the design of road structures with complementary disciplines involved in the project;
  • Preparing quantity and cost estimates according to established methods and conducting budget follow-ups;
  • Conducting field visits and surveys and preparing associated corrective actions as needed;

Your Profile:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Engineer, OIQ member;
  • Possess experience in project management and the design of municipal and road infrastructures;
  • Have experience in site supervision (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the standards and operating procedures of the City of Montreal and MTMD;
  • Knowledge of PCSWMM and CHAUSSEÉ;
  • Hold a valid ASP construction card - General health and safety on construction sites;
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software, including AutoCAD and/or MicroStation;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including MS Project;
  • Demonstrate autonomy, rigor, and good organizational skills;
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with good communication and listening abilities, as well as collaboration skills.
